Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Newbury

The Woodspeen Restaurant

Lambourn Rd, Woodspeen, Newbury RG20 8BN, UK – 01635 265070

From stepping through the door, the experience begins. The staff are so attentive and though it's really busy you still get a first class personal service. The wine list is fenominal, as well as the beers; plus they have a great selection non-alcoholic cocktails. The quality of the food speaks volumes for itself...enough said...In summary, a wonderful gastronomic train ride from beginning to end... recommend you get on board!

We had a lovely meal there this evening. The setting is modern inside with loads of friendly staff to help. We weren't left languishing waiting to order, everything was nice and prompt with feeling rushed. The waiter was very knowledgeable about gin as they have 28 different types! The food was excellent, as expected for somewhere of this calibre. Good portions, interesting mix of flavours and not outrageously expensive. We will definitely be coming back.

The River Bar Restaurant

Newbury Manor, London Rd, Newbury RG14 2BY, UK – 01635 528838

Top restaurant in a beautiful setting. Located next to Newbury Manor hotel this is a hidden gem. If your looking to have dinner with clients this is one of the best in the area.

Party of 10 attended for their Sunday lunch menu. Looked after us very well. Table looking out onto water. Really enjoyed the day.

Chilis Indian Restaurant

Station Approach, Newbury RG14 5DG, UK – 01635 522577

Visited last night with my wife, it was my second visit and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was superb with hardly see any oil floating, we did have to wait a while for the food but that's because each dish is cooked individually and it was certainly worth the wait. The lady who served us was fantastic, she was attentive without being overbearing and very friendly. The owner popped over to say hello and it was nice to see that it's a real family affair. Best Indian food I have eaten in a long time and I will definitely be back again and again.

Fantastic food, great service and a lovely little place just near the train station. Food can be cooked to your own taste in other words you can have it really hot and spicy or mild which was great for myself and partner who are on different planets in terms of chilli! Will definitely be going back for more but make sure you book as is usually busy whenever have walked past...
